Pakistan Win the Cup!

and our little competition comes to an end. Pakistan played a great game. The bowled first and Razzak came straight out of the gates and got 3 early wickets. Then Sangakarra hung in there for a long time racking up 64 runs to give Pakistan 138 to chase. Pakistan wasted no time and no batsmen. Afridi sealed the deal with a half century and Pakistan won by 8 wickets with 8 balls remaining.

How did we do? well, Sandeeps Dream Team didn't wake up to all of the noise from Blair's Bombers, The smashing windows shattered glass onto Aussie rules footie, and Harts Gas let one fly right in the face of Lynda's Goggas. The Old Boggers were the ones who dusted the Dusters and Henry's Hobos put a hex on Bob's Chiloquin. Agnoman! the Flying Toasters beat them, Gonubie Chinas have Bubble gum on their shoes, and Arvinders Drag-ons left Team Jiminy off. Finally, The Great Gryllidae left Dr. Teeth nashing at their heels.

It's been another fun tournament. I hope you all have enjoyed yourselves. Take a break, do some research and we'll see you all back here in 2011 for the next World Cup!!

  1. Thanks again for organising and exciting game. Congratulations to all at the top and especially Katy for doing all the right things at the right times - a worthy winner! I was most disappointed to see that our completition has been wiped off the Fantasy Cricket site. No idea what happened at the end - is there any way of seeing the standings? Does anyone have a copy of the final listing?

  2. Yes - to all that. Congratulations Katy, for winning. And congratulations for setting it all up for the rest of us and doing all the hard work to keep our noses to the grindstone. I had a fine time, so thank you!

I also looked to see the standings - because I get confused with the wiggles on the worm (I know, I know) and would have loved to gloat - or not.

Don't forget, there's the ICC Champions Trophy (ODI) happening here in South Africa in September. The world's top 8 teams play. I don't know who they are, but hey, I'm sure it gives me another opportunity to do something unpleasant to the Australians.

  4. Its been fun. I think that productivity will increase a thousand fold here in Walnut Creek now that I have to do some actual work - although it won't be nearly as interesting. Me and my spreadsheet are looking forward to the next time.

  5. I'm so exhausted from the frivolity I'm going to the cabin for the next week to rest up and make baskets.
I loved starting my day with all the great comments.
Thanks Katy and Michael for hosting the many cricket "parties".
    Here's to 2011.
