wednesday blahs

no cricket today - boo. Anyway, yesterday Pakistan solidified their place in the super eights but I have to say Bangladesh did not go gentle into that good night. The batted first at put up a respectable 175 for Pakistan to chase, and 84 of those were from Al Hasan - anyone have him? Oh yeah, I did! But Pakistan came back in good stead with Nazir countering Al Hasan and scoring 72 - anyone have him? In the end Pakistan won with 8 wickets and 8 balls remaining.

So now we wait, have some coffee, contemplate your super eight team. Who is going to the finals? There have been no real surprises yet, are there upsets yet to come? How many trades do you have? Have you been budgeting them or winging it? Is it time for a captain change? (this is my big question but since my guy has only played one and a half rained shortened games it is hard to know if he is in a slump or ready to unleash some balls to the walls - I think I'll hang onto him) Enjoy your coffee (or tea) and use this time to comment below - let us know what you are contemplating.

  1. First of all, I would like to say thank you to you, Katy, for the fabulous blog. I, for one, am an avid follower and think your comments are interesting, amusing and insightful - ever think of a career in sports journalism? So let's hear it for Katy - HIP HIP... We all shouted hooray, didn't we. I agree, let's discuss our strategies from here on. Will let you know when I have worked mine out.

  2. Here is what I worked out. I need to put the first batsman of each team in my team - otherwise, they never get to play. However, I don't know who the first one is and even if I did, don't listen to the person who has the ninth worm down. Good luck to you all for the Super Eights.

  3. I'm continuing my strategy of four trades per game. I think it isn't worth changing captains because it costs to much. It seams like we should get a rain refund on some traids. I'm thinking of trading for some F players from Afganistan just for extra trade points.

  4. 4 trades? What are you saving them for? I'm going for six.

  6. Well I just made my team and then had a look at some of yours. Mine is quite similar to Anna's. This makes me feel good and bad. Good that I put them together sans pivot, bad that it will make it very hard to gain on her. Go Pollard!! And James, seriously, what are you saving them for?

  7. me thinks the pivot (and myself) have failed. Wright for a golden duck.....boo and munaweera didn't even play, and Pollard, ooh Pollard why have I hung onto you so????

  9. In case you want to know- I'm in the 4 trades per game. Sometimes you don't need that many to have a full team. I've saved up so many I will one day soon change my captain. Just in case you want to know from the big loser.
