Watch out Mom!  Katy's cows are looking for some sweet revenge.

It's Me, Its' Me! I surged!

I've finally passed Anna, she must not have picked Shamsi, he did well for me.  We are about a little more than half way through the Super 12 round and here is where things stand.  Everyone in Group 1 has payed 3 matches and with their wins today, England and South Africa top the group.  Special note to England who certainly left the Australians in the Ashes today.  (For you American folk, the Ashes is like The Big Game (for you British folk, the Big Game is like the Ashes))  Anyway, Group 2 hasn't completed their 3 games yet, except Pakistan who currently tops the field, followed by Afghanistan.

As for us, Sweet Revenge still tops the pack but 805 is about to Stricker 😁 Katy's Cow Corner laid down a pie for the Bright Suns while the Royal Soaring Sixers are looking for another five.  Meanwhile, Slightly Batty is defying all odds by staying ahead of the Chartham Strikers.  I think the Chudley Cannons may have misfired but hopefully they'll be booming again soon.

Who let the worms out

Someone's surging.  Its just not me.

It's Game Night, this will be quick

Pakistan beat Afghanistan by 5 wickets.  Babar Azam got 51.  Also, WI beat Bangladesh by 3 runs.  Das and Mahmudullah tried but it was to little to late. Tomorrow SA v. SL and Aus v. Eng

As for us? Same, same. Although Anna did surge and Henry got past Sean.

Enjoy

We Don't Need No Cricket Games Yeah

All in all its just another 3 wicket haul.....

So, England beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets, well done England.  Bangladesh put up a mediocre 124/9, 3 wicket haul to Mills and then in the chase Jason Roy went to town for 61 before being caught out in the 13th over.  Bairstow and Malan finished it out a few overs later with 35 balls remaining.

Then, or maybe it was before, I didn't watch either game, Namibia beat Scotland by 4 wickets.  Scotalnd peaked way to early in this competition.  The put up a measley 109/8 and Namibia chased it down pretty handily.  One bright note for Scotland, Leask who scored 44 runs and earned 2 wickets, so some points to you if you picked Leask.

As for us?  Well the worm says it all, not much is happening.  Except Sean has basically given up making trades along with Michael so Henry is catching up and Michael will be next.  I keep telling these boys to go make trades but no one listens to me, apparently I'm just "The Man"

Um, Scotland?

Remember when Scotland was knocking it out of the park, surprising the world with their World Cup play?  Yeah that was short lived.  Afghanistan just got taken over by the Taliban and still managed to take the piss out of Scotland.  Afghanistan batted first and they reached an impressive total of 190/4.  59 to Zadran, and both Zazai and Gurbaz were in the 40s.  But then Scoland had a chance at the bat and they didn't want to restrict it to 3 or 4 guys, they wanted everyone to have a chance.  Those Scots just like to share.  Problem was they shared a little to freely and went all out in the 11 over 130 runs short!  Yep, they were short by a total most teams hope to total.  5 wicket haul to Ur Rahman and 4 for Khan.  So, well done in the cricket Afghanistan, now if you could just sort that Taliban problem out.

Tomorrow we get a chance to see what the Kiwis have been up to, they take on Pakistan.  And South Africa will be hoping to knock the wind out of the Windies.  Im hoping to put another little dent in Anna's lead over me.  What are your goals?

Another Day Another Worm

Yo India! You have to play BOTH innings.

2 Games today.  First up Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, yeah yeah, we've seen these guys.  Ban opened with 171/4 not bad at all, looking good Bangladesh.  1/2 century for both Naim and M. Rahim.  But then SL managed to chase it down with 5 wickets to spare in the 19th over.  80 for Asalanka and 53 for Rajapakja.

Next up, the big cricket rivals, India and Pakistan!  This should be one huge match, can't wait to see it.  Caught the first inning.  India at bat and Kohli leads the team with 57 getting the Indian side to 151/7.  Ok, good outing, they can defend this right?  Right!  I mean its beatable but its also defendable.  Made breakfast during the innings break, Michael got distracted by "Name this movie from one still shot" quizzes on YouTube, and well, we never saw the 2nd inning.  But I mean, it was all business as usual.  So....no big deal.  Checks cricinfo.........WTF!?  Pakistan won, ok cool, but they won BY 10 WICKETS!!!  WTF just happened, that we missed watching "Fool Penn and Teller" on YouTube?  Apparently all the Indian bowlers got stuck in line for the loo, cause they lost the match without getting one single wicket, not one.  Rizwan and Azam just went out there and ran back and forth a bunch of times and won the game for Pakistan.   So, well done Pakistan

Tomorrow only one match, Scotland and Afghanistan.  My advice, pee before the match starts.

Umm, was that a game?

Anyone catch the Netherlands / Sri Lanka game?  If you blinked or stopped for coffee you probably missed it.  The Netherlands were dessimated, it was bad, real bad.  The batted first and went all out after a measly 10 overs, they only put up a total of 44 to chase.  Well done to the Sri Lankan bowlers, they made it look like they belonged in the Super 12s all along.  So, Sri Lanka goes through.  Then Namibia earned their place in the Super 12s by knocking out Ireland.  Eramsus wasn't dragging as he got himself a half century.

SO, tomrrow begins the Super 12s round.  Two groups again, top two teams in each group will move onto the semifinals.  Group 1 Eng, Aust, SA, WI, Ban, and SL - tough group that one.  Group 2 Afg, Pak, India, NZ, Sco, and Nam

Tomorrows matches are Australia v. SA and Eng v. WI.  All new teams so you'll have to expand your research beyond the point totals.  Have fun making trades.

Will you Pikky Pikky?

Today saw two very lopsided games.  First, Bangladesh trounced PNG by 84 runs!  The put up 187 for PNG to chase, and PNG just decided to have a spot of tea and watch them go by.  So PNG is out.  Then Scotland made quick work of Oman chasing down their 122 in just 17 overs with 8 wickets to spare.  So, Scotland also goes through.  I have to say it seems as though the Scots have been playing beyond everyones expectations, so well done Scots!

And well done Missy who continues to put the rest of us to shame and is certainly making a run for the cricketweb prizes.  I hope she'll share.

Tomorrow is the last matched for group A where Sri Lanka will go through accompanied by the winner of Ireland v. Namibia.

Get your picks in, and consider picking Pikky.

Flatliners

The whole California Robinson crew forgot to make changes last night.  SO........ we missed out on all the good points today as Sri Lanka beat Ireland by 70 and Namibia took out the Netherlands by 6 wickets.  The good news is that I saved a whole bunch of trades, especially since I don't have to trade today since everyone on my team from the other day will be playing tomorrow.  SO........  Final matches in group B tomorrow.  Looking at the points table you might think Scotland have it made and PNG are going home.  BUT, not true, even PNG have a chance to make it through.  Because of run rates and such the top two spots are wide open, everyone must win.  It should make for a few exciting matches.

As The Worm Turns

The Bright Sun is shining on the 805 Strikers as they both soar

Today's first match saw Scotland continue their domination of group B, beating PNG by 17runs.  Scotland batted first ans put up a formidable 165/9.  Berrington passed the half century mark and was cruising toward a full century but went out at 70.  He had the most help by Cross with 45.  PNG did manage a few wickets though, 4 credited to Morea and a 3 wicket haul for Cross.  So PNG was chasing 165, PNG was playing no good and may just end up as personas no gratas if they are booted from this tournament with nothing to show.  Vanua managed 47 but was caught out while trying to hit a boundary for his half century, other than that, meh, they went all out with 3 balls remaining.  4 wickets to Davey.  Scotland top group B with 4 points, PNG 0

Bangladesh also seem to have shrugged off the sleep and beat Oman by 26 runs.  Bangladesh put up 153 for Oman to chase.  64 coming from Naim and 42 from Al Hasan.  3 wickets a piece to B Khan and Butt.  Heee heeee, I typed Butt, hee hee.  Come on, a little giggle with your cricket news is good.  I know Anna was chuckling. Anyway, I'm sure its a fine upstanding Omani name.  Speaking of Oman, they tried to chase that 153 but couldn't.  The only Omani of note in the batting department was J. Singh with 40.  But 4 wicket haul to my captain Rahman.  I was really excited about that till I realised everyone else was soaring past my with the captain choice of Al Hasan - he had a great day, 3 wickets to add to his 42 runs.

Tomorrow its back to group A action with a losers table (Namibia and the Netherlands) and a winners table (Sri Lanka and Ireland)

As for use, in addition to the Al Hasan crowd doing quite well, Sean's Chuddley Cannons have overtaken Henry's Chartham Strikers.  Lots of cricket left to play.

We have a worm!!

Did you all see the worm?  Thanks to Anna for maintaing our worm for us.  As you can see, Anna's line crossed mine - sad.  Missy is still on  top followed by Michael.  I checked my team against Missys, she gone for the front runners.  I'm hoping my few not front runners will really help me be outstanding in my cows corner.

I have to start doing these blogs during the day cause frankly I don't have the energy right now, my Erasmus B Draggin. A little shout out to Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers.

Tomorrow its the same as day one only opposite.  Scotland will try to knock out PNG, and Oman will see if Bangladesh got a better nights sleep.

For those local - we've figured out how to see the games tape delayed. So, we'll have to pick some for an in person watch session.

A roaring start for Scotland, Oman, Missy and Michael

And we're off to a roaring start.  At least some of us are.  Today's first match saw Oman completely rout Papa New Guinea with 10 wickets to spare.  PNG batted first and got off to a slow start, a SLOW START.  They dropped 2 wickets in the 1st 2 overs and only put up 1 run.  Hell, I could played for them and done just as well.  but then they settled in and started putting some decent runs on the board getting to 103 for 3 in the first 14 overs.  Then it went bad, IT WENT BAD.  With the next 20 balls they lost 6 wickets, 4 of them coming from Maqsood (one of Michael's stars - do you think Missy also had him?  We may never know).  PNG ended their turn with 129/9.  Oman capitalized on the home court advantage, using only their two openers to chase down those 129 runs.  Signh got 73 off 42 balls and Ilyas 50 off 43.  So without dropping any wickets they handily handed PNG a welcome basket filled with regret.

Then Scotland gave Bangladesh a wake up call, "Hey Bangladesh!  If you want to progress in the tournament you have to play better!"  Scotland started a little slow but as soon as Greaves entered things picked up.  I think we'll be hearing a lot from Greaves in the coming month.  He put up 45 of Scotlands 140 /9.  Then Bangladesh started their chase, but it seems that wake up call was little late and they skipped breakfast cause they just couldn't get the numbers high enough.  They only made it to 134 after their 20 overs.  I bet they wish they could go back and have a do over.

So that was that.  We don't know what shot Missy so far ahead but she must have made some good choices.  It can't last can it?  Missy (951) and Michael (924) were both 400 points ahead of most of us. In fact Missy is currently ranked 42 world wide with Michael not far behind at 53.  Sean said his Chuddley Cannons missed the mark but are now loaded with players who will actually be playing, so watch out!

Tomorrow is Ireland v. Netherlands and Sri Lanka v. Namibia

For those local, we can get the games streaming on ESPN+ through HULU.  Seems for now that we can only see them live, not taped delayed.  So, come on over bright and early and catch the second match any time you want.

On your marks, get set, .......

Are we ready to rumble???  Games start in 10 hours.  3am California time (Pacific Standard), 11am in England.  So you best be making sure your teams are spick and span and ready to go.  Tomorrow's matches will be Group B of the qualifying round (Oman v. Papa New Guinea and Bangladesh v. Scotland)  Should be some rip roaring action so get on it.  Currently we have 7 teams competing, Katy's Cow Corner is hoping to dominate the field while Michael's Slightly Batty is looking to knock it out.  Anna's Bright Suns are hoping to throw a LOT of shade on Missy's Sweet Revenge.  Revenge for what I wonder??  Catherine is banking on the Queens blessing of her Royal Soaring Sixers while James is looking closer to home with his 805 Strikers.  And finally Henry is putting his faith in the tried and true Chartham Strikers.  Has anyone seen Bob or Moira??  give a poke if you see them, they haven't joined yet.  Clock's ticking.
