Welcome Freshman!

As there are a number of people new to the sport who are planning to join us in this little romp I thought I would repost the rules of the game that Michael shared during our 1st foray into the land of fantasy cricket, enjoy!

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.

And if that doesn't clear the sport up for you try the Cricket 101 link on the right for a slightly more technical look.

  1. Why thank you for this illuminating explanation once again. I cannot see that anyone can be in any doubt about the rules after reading this! A week to go so we should all be honing our sides for the start of the onslaught. Netherlands and England play on Friday hope England can win that one. And Scotland plays NZ the next day - who ever heard of Scotland playing cricket!! Wouldn't it be fun if they played in kilts and bagpipes could be heard in the stands. Good luck everyone.

  2. I have looked at stats, studied it all, made a team, pondered, changed it three times, cursed the 60 trades, and now we're ready- Team Duster will dust you all off!!!

Team bubblegum is so confident that I will blow all of you away that I am relying only on Katy B's (Robinson) expert version of the in's and out's of cricket. I am bypassing the cricket 101 contaminated version.
