Welcome Back!
I can't believe its been four longs years since Anna wrested the Sweaty Robinson World Cup Trophy of Winningness from James, but it has. Now it's time to see who can craft the perfect squad of 11 and dethrone Anna. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will begin with England taking on South Africa on May 30th. This tournament has 10 teams, no groups, playing 9 ODI games each. Top 4 move on to the semis, everyone else goes home. The Final match will be Sunday July 14th. So who's in?? Who's ready to brush off their pivot table? print the player stats? pen a clever name? sift through the choices and build a team? I've created a league over at Cricket Web and you should have received an email from them with an invite, but if not you can use the User Key 1556996250 to join our league, 2Cheap 2Attend. You'll have to create your team first and then join the league. Make sure you are choosing the World Cup 2019 as your competition. Your team will consist of 3 Batsmen, 1 Wicket Keeper, 3 Bowlers and 4 Mixed Role. Teams in the tournament in ranked order: 1. England, 2. India, 3. South Africa, 4. New Zealand, 5. Australia, 6 Pakistan, 7. Bangladesh, 8. West Indies, 9. Sri Lanka, and 10. Afghanistan.
Know anyone else that wants to join the fun? Invite them in, the waters nice, We should be able to field a group at least as large as the 2020 Democratic candidates.
Have fun!
P.S. Anna - will we have a worm??

Final Post
Well we've done it again, we've waisted another month with the silly cricket. I mean we've spent an enjoyable month bonding with our family and friends. Thank you all for joining me in the journey.
The West Indies beat England by 4 wickets. England batted first and put up 155. Half century to Root and ducks to Roy and Moeen Ali. 3 wicket hauls to Bravo and Brathwaite. So last night when making my team, I had 1 trade left, so I was looking for a WI bowler. I asked Michael, he didn't know, I narrowed it down to Benn or Brathwaite..........guess who I chose? Yeah, the one with the horrible econ rating, not the 3 wicket haul. Anyway... WI went into bat and stayed true to their normal style of leaving the same person on point for as long as possible. And that person seemed to be their #3, Samuels. In the end he was not out with 85 runs. But, Samuels is not the story, no. Can you guess? Who do you think, in the end, won the game for WI??? Yes, that's right, the one and only Brathwaite!! Why or Why could I not have gone with Brathwaite??? WI needed 19 runs from the last 6 balls, it was looking pretty good for England. Brathwaite was on point, Stokes was into bowl. End then 6!, and 6!, and 6!, and just in case you missed it 6! Brathwaite knocked 4 6's in a row to win the match. WOW!!!
The Wexst Indies may have won the tournament but England prevailed in our little competition. Congratulations to Catherine for taking home the World Twenty20 Cup! and also a hearty congrats to Bob for winning in the qualifying round and to me, for winning the main tournament. And most of all a huge congratulations and Thank you to everyone for playing. Until next time.......

Final Match Tomorrow!!
I assume by now you all know that the West Indies beat India. Seems whoever I think will win does not. Looks like a captain change for me. Kohli lead India to an impressive 192 with 89 of those runs. And India only dropped 2 wickets, so it was all looking good. But apparently India can't bowl, so......... Only dropping 3 wickets, West Indies chased it down with 2 balls remaining. Simmons had 82 and a half century to Charles. Why didn't I slot Simmons in?? Why?? He was on my short list. Ahh well....
As for us: The only switch after that game was James being struck down by Henry's Chartham Strikers. So one more match to make your moves. One more match to revel in the glory or wallow in misery. One more match of Cricket fun. England and the West Indies, who will it be?? Can England overcome years of choking to take home the prize?? Can the West Indies be disciplined enough to win? Will the Conquistadors dodge the Cannon fire? Third place is just about anyone's game. And what about our overall scores?? Catherine still has the lead there. Not sure by how much but I can tell you, I am hoping to take home ALL the glory, so she better watch out.
Good Luck Everyone!

Who Knew? England!
England had a massive win today to take them into the finals over New Zealand. I really thought NZ was going all the way, but they didn't just lose, they got beat, big time. NZ batted first and put up 153. Not a stellar total. Highest scoring batsmen was Munro with 46. They needed to do better, really, this is the semi finals here. 3 wicket haul to Stokes. Anyone have that guy??
So England went in to bat and they made it look easy, like they were playing Ireland or someone. Roy hit 78 and they only dropped 3 wickets. The 153 was easily chased down in 17.1 overs. So well done England. They only have to keep from choking in one more game. They could do this people! What's the word at Patisserie Valerie?? Is everyone all a buzz? Or are they "cautiously optimistic?"
Next semi starts in a little while and will be India v. West indies, should be a good one, which I could watch. Maybe I'll force the kids to watch the end with me........
